Ophthalmologists use the LightLas SLT from LightMed to treat certain glaucoma types with Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty. Features include: Short pulses of light are used to reduce IOP by encouraging the body to use microphages to clear affected cells and grow new ones that strengthen the eye. Less traumatic to the eye than ALT, the SLT can reduce chances of recurrence and re-treatment and can avoid the permanent scarring oftentimes induced by ALT. SLT can be performed on patients with prior ALT procedures.
